Early Life and Background Carissa Moore was born on a summer day in 1992. Growing up in the Hawaiian Islands, she had easy access to world-class waves. Her father, her supportive father, introduced her to surfing at an early stage of childhood. Together they spent endless sessions riding waves. These early experiences helped build her confidence.
